Puppy Kindergarten
1 hour, select weekdays or Saturdays for 5 weeks at Petite Paws Playcare in Olympic Village.

Did you know that the first 3-4 months of a puppy’s life is the most important time for socialization? During this time, lots of critical long-term brain development happens, so it’s important to take advantage of that by exposing our pup’s to as many new people, animals, and environments as we can.
Our Puppy Kindergarten classes at Raintown are designed to safely socialize your puppies (yes, there’s plenty of playtime!) whilst teaching you to read your puppy’s body language for important information. We also help you train in your puppies some fundamental skills to set them up for success.
During your five weeks with us, what we cover includes loose leash walking, stay, body handling, reactivity prevention, and creating positive associations with the world. Did we mention that it’s also oodles of FUN?

The Course
Up to 7 dogs per class (+ two trainers)
Class 1 = Healthy Play Behaviours, Body Handling Lesson, Sit & Down
Class 2 = Playtime, “Leave It”, Foreign object/sound conditioning
Class 3 = Playtime, “Stay”, Object exchanges
Class 4 = Playtime, Hand Targeting (“touch!”), Recall from play
Class 5 = Playtime, Leash Walking, Graduation Talent Show
We accept puppies aged 7-20 weeks for kindergarten classes after a minimum of one round of vaccinations has been administered.*
* Please see the AVSAB’s position statement on Puppy Socialization for more information on vaccinations and puppies. Do not wait until your pup has received all of their shots before enrolling them in classes.
